As the expression goes, "sometimes a fresh set of eyes can help you see a new path." My years in management, leadership, service delivery, sales development, marketing and consulting have taught me even the best leaders can fall into patterns of myopia and routine comfortably thinking, "if its not broke don't fix it." That's REACTIVE not PRO-ACTIVE. Pro-Active leadership involves meeting today's operational challenge while continuously planning and re-planning for "what's coming next." In a fast-paced, ever changing, ever evolving world we all need helping hands.

• Actually, NOPE. Just a man and his dog. The background on the name CASHEL DILLON CONSULTING Inc. Well, Brian R Dillon, President, is the "Dillon" in the firm's name. The "CASHEL" component of the firm's name is not derived from a person but a place. And before you ask "Who is your business partner CASHEL? She is truly a "silent" partner in the business for she is none other than Ireland's historic "Cashel Rock."
  

• A symbolic partner only. "Cashel Rock" being a reminder to be as solid, durable and sustainable as Ireland's renown fortress. A tribute to Brian R Dillon's own Irish roots before his ancestors immigrated to Canada prior to the Great Famine. The lush, green fields of Ireland symbolic of the new green economy taking root. Plus, having the word "cash" embedded in "Cashel" keeps the focus on delivering value-added thinking and solutions to my clients for "cash" creation, regardless of your definition of revenue or building stakeholder wealth, for this is why we are warriors on the battlefield of business and life.

• CODE OF THE ROAD: "Play the game?" No thanks. Brian play sports. Brian does play board games, card games, games of chance but it starts and stops there. Strategy is not head games. Bluffing might work in poker but not very often out on the streets. Compete with character. The mantra in business is as we learned from playing sports ... Play Hard; Play Fair; Play with Heart; Play to Mentor; Play to Laugh; Play with Character and Play to Win." 

• THE ROOMIE Bio: Brian's roommate is Nina (born in Y2K) a Black Labrador/ Husky/ Other Breed mutt who I adopted from the SPCA in October 2002. Loves her people. But doesn't much like other dogs. Born hunter. Chasing down squirrels and smells is what she loves best. Nina is a top notch sprinter, game dog and ball catcher. Nina splits time with Brian and his older brother and mum down in the Eastern Townships. A good arrangement for all. The Dillon family gets to share her high energy personality, loving nature and exploits. The dog gets the bonus of both country and urban life.

• CIVIL STATUS Bio: Brian is a Canadian Citizen. Citizen of the Planet. In fact, aren't we all? Valid Canadian Passport. Valid Quebec Driver's License. No criminal record. Available for mandates be they local to the Montreal region or parts farther a field. Brian's social status is currently single after various adventures and mis-adventures in cohabitation; relationships and dating with the fairer sex.

In a time of planet ecology crisis we have tangible "common cause" with the next Kyoto Protocol to be worked out in Tianjin, China (autumn 2010) Given the vastness of the universe who can truly claim to know but a fraction of what there is to learn or discover. For to give an analogy, our planet is akin to mere grain of sand on the beach in the vastness of space?  Brian is a regular blood donor for Hema-Quebec "Give the gift of life, give blood" having donated some 20-plus times. Sundry small causes including habitat preservation, wetlands preservation, literacy, amateur - youth sports and individual privacy rights. To recap, I wish you "Namaste" (a Japanese term), "I worship the divine spirit in you" to paraphrase from my learnings in Budokon (a mind, body and spirit practice that fuses yoga, meditation and martial arts.) Live the life of a "spiritual warrior." You will sleep better at night.
